Of Colombian descent, she grew up in Orange County, CA and Tulsa, OK. Lauren attended Vanderbilt University for her Undergraduate Degree where she studied Spanish, Portuguese and Studio Art. Following her passion for art and fashion, she then moved to NYC where she received a subsequent degree from Parsons New School in Fashion Design. It was during those years that Lauren improved upon her natural ability to understand and express the human form on canvas. After 10 years in Manhattan, her gypsy soul took her to Sun Valley, ID where she is now pursuing a full-time career as an artist. Lauren draws inspiration from her vast life experiences, including extensive international travel, substantial technical training, experiencing cultural variety, and all the pain and joy of life along the way. Her style has been described as having an “urban grit” with a keen understanding of the human condition. She is inspired by art greats such as Basquiat, Kahlo, Banksy and Klimt to name a few. Her preferred mediums are: acrylic, spray paint, graphite, ink and gold leaf.
